Infants : 100 Acre Wood (6 weeks to 12 months) Ratio 1:4

In our infant class, in order to create as consistent of an environment as possible, we mirror each baby’s sleeping and eating schedule as closely as possible to what they experience at home.

We focus on each child’s needs by providing motivating interaction that fosters each child’s emotional and physical growth. Our program is planned to make infants feel safe, secure, and loved. Our staff is knowledgeable in age-appropriate activities and milestones that your baby needs.

Your baby will have floor time with activities, tummy time, along with bonding-time with our teachers. We encourage practicing gross-motor skills through various activities, story time, as well as music and movement to encourage reaching each new milestone in their development.

Wobblers: Whoville (1 year – 2 years) Ratio 1:4

Our wobbler class is filled with happy, curious children, where each child is in a safe and nurturing environment. Each child is encouraged to explore and develop new skills at their own pace.

Our manipulatives and materials are safe and age-appropriate for the children. The room arrangement is large, (double classroom) and filled with lots of climbing toys to encourage physical activity and improving mobility and balance. The extra large classroom size fulfills this age group’s individual needs by providing ample space for the children to eat, sleep, play, exercise and socialize in a safe manner.

In this classroom, we begin with the fundamentals of social and emotional development. Curriculum concepts are taught at an introductory level with plenty of flexibility for shorter attention spans. The group is introduced to the concept of “circle-time,” Yoga with daily affirmations, and of course we incorporate daily, fun projects that often get messy. This age group tends to be particularly drawn to sensory projects.

We love to explore the outside even when it is raining, snowing, or in any kind of inclement weather, as long as it remains safe for our kiddos and staff.

Toddlers: Curious Corner (2 years – 3 years) 1:5 Ratio

These active and curious toddlers have many interests that they are starting to investigate in the world around them.

We provide activities, which are theme-based (new themes introduced monthly) that aide with social/emotional development, independence, and reinforcing their desire to foster life-long learning.

We provide opportunities for independent exploration, structured activities (circle-time), as well as hands-on learning.

We explore engaging activities including arts & crafts, sensory, imaginative play, language development, rhyming, counting, singing, and dancing.

Working independently and with their peers will help your child learn strong cooperation skills, how to share and take turns, and the self-confidence to prepare them for preschool and beyond.

Preschoolers : Wonderland (3 years) 1:10 Ratio  & Tikki Tembo (4 years) 1:10 Ratio

In the preschool programs is where we really dive into social/emotional development. We work on lots of conflict resolution, classroom management, and cooperation with others.

We have safe environments that make learning fun and build self-confidence while playing. We begin assigning responsibilities and jobs in this group, included with a “pay day” for a job well done.

We instill love of all learning in each child by providing positive learning opportunities. We pair your child’s talents and curiosity with skilled teachers who help them use reading, math, science, nature concepts, artistic and creative expression to reach their full potential.

In the 4 year old program we move to a more academically structured program in order to prepare them for kindergarten.

We want to encourage our preschoolers to respect, be kind and considerate of others, to listen and follow directions.

Before & After-School : Max’s Playhouse (kinder to 12 years) 1:15

We provide transportation to various Tigard elementary schools. Upon picking them up each day, we return to school where they play with their peers and make new friends from other schools.

They have circle-time, outside-time, snack, and an opportunity to work on homework. Our goal is to make our program a bit less structured since their school days are quite structured. At this point in their day, they really crave a healthy, fun and safe place to unwind. =

We focus on a group management approach to take care of our classroom, supplies, and each other by fostering cooperation, kindness, respect of one another. We assign weekly jobs to each student and discuss those responsibilities during circle time.

Our environment is set up for the independent thinkers. We offer dramatic play, a ton of art activities, indoor basketball play, tumbling mats, lots of books and board games along with a couple of couches if you just want to relax.

Once a week they have a gaming day where the kids can bring their electronics or use our gaming system for a limited period of time to unwind.

Summer Explorers: Full Day, School-Ager Summer Camp

This program has evolved over the past couple of years, due to COVID, but we have been able to maintain our weekly schedule of getting the kiddos out of the building, on a field trip, 3 days a week.

Our excursions have included a wide variety of activities, from visits to the Oregon Zoo, OMSI, seeing plays at Broadway Rose Theatre, lots of hikes and visits to local parks, some with water play, and the crowning jewel to celebrate the close of summer is crowd favorite: Oaks Park. Each summer has a unique schedule of outings that are defined by the end of June, to commence the first week of July.
